WINDOWS24.JUL.2023
“WINDOWS” explores the hidden societal issues behind China's abandoned buildings, offering a deeper perspective on the lives affected by these unfinished structures. Through extensive research and on-site interviews, the project culminates in a book that blends poetic literature with documentary photography.

The narrative focuses on the emotional struggles and pain experienced by the residents, set against the rapid pace of societal development. By intertwining poetry, prose, and visual storytelling, the project aims to evoke empathy and encourage reflection on the consequences of unchecked urban expansion.

“The Dreams Beyond Windows” (Experimental Section Video)

This experiment uses the window as a symbol of hope and disappointment. Residents look out, imagining the "home" they once dreamed of, but instead see decaying, unfinished buildings. The video captures the tension between these aspirations and harsh reality, prompting viewers to reflect on the possibility that anyone could become the next resident of an abandoned building.
